SHINee concert in Japan confirmed weeks after Jonghyun's death

After the death of Kim Jong-hyun, whose stage name is Jonghyun, SHINee is now a quartet. The four members Lee Jin-ki, Kim Ki-bum, Choi Min-ho and Lee Tae-min, whose respective stage names are Onew, Key, Minho and Taemin, have confirmed their concerts in Japan in February 2018.

Onew, Key, Minho and Taemin shared handwritten letters to the official website of SHINee. In the letters, they talked about their decision to do the planned shows in Japan despite the recent loss of one member to suicide.

The decision is something that Jonghyun would want from the remaining SHINee members, Key explained. He added that the decision to keep their promise to the fans and give them great performances is the most probable thing the group would do.

Onew, the leader of the band, noted that he though he could not do the concert in Japan. However, Jonghyn's mother told him not to give up, so he was inspired to work harder to comfort those who are missing the late SHINee member.

Taemin admitted that he did not have the confidence to perform at first. But like Onew, Taemin wanted to keep their promise to their fans.

In Minho's letter, he incorporated lyrics from "Honesty," a song from SHINee's fourth EP titled "Sherlock." He co-wrote the song with Jonghyun.

Titled "Shinee World The Best 2018," the upcoming SHINee concert tour marks the sixth time the group is performing a tour in Japan. More than 180,000 audience members are expected to attend the concerts.

"Shinee World The Best 2018" will take place at the Osaka City Dome February 17-18, 2018. It will end at the Tokyo Dome February 26-27, 2018.
