MXM duo Im Young-min, Kim Dong-hyun featured in Deezer’s Football Fever channel
Collaboratively
known as the MXM duo, Brand New Boys members Im Young-min and Kim Dong-hyun are
featured by the new Football Fever channel of global music streaming service Deezer.
This is to celebrate the 21st FIFA World Cup, which is taking place in Russia from
June 14, 2018 to July 15, 2018.
Deezer is
hosting exclusive playlists created by musicians from each of the 32 countries
partaking in the world’s largest football competition. Representing South Korea
are Im and Kim, who both participated in "Produce 101" Season 2.
Each
artist’s playlist will also champion a wide variety of their local genres.
Niska of France, Mc Kevinho of Brazil, Paul Kalkbrenner of Germany and DaVido
of Nigeria represent French rap, Brazilian funk, German electronic and
Nigerian Afrobeats, respectively.
Along
with MXM, taking over Deezer’s new Football Fever channel with exclusive
playlists are Kasabian for England, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu for Japan, Zara Larsson for
Sweden and Mike Bahia for Colombia. Kasabian's chosen tracks include hits from
artists like James Blake and Giggs while Larsson's playlist is full of local
Swedish influences and favorites like Tove Lo, Avicii and Icona Pop.
Deezer’s
Football Fever channel is getting fans into the football spirit with local Top
Anthems played at World Cup tournaments over the last 60 years chosen specially
by Deezer music editors. The global music streaming service's Global Vice
President of Artist Marketing Sulinna Ong stated, “Football, like music,
is about bringing people together."
"Just
as the World Cup gathers the best in football talent from all over the world,
Deezer has gathered the best in global musical talent for this summer’s
matches," Ong explained. "We’re excited to have great musicians like
Kasabian, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, MXM of Brand New Boys, Zara Larsson, Vance Joy,
Paul Kalkbrenner and Of Monsters and Men showcasing their own favorite artists
from each of their countries to give our football-loving users the perfect
soundtrack to the World Cup this summer.”
Currently
available, the Football Fever channel will run until July 16,
2018.
