Taeyeon, EXO pay tribute to SHINee’s Jonghyun at their concerts

The K-pop industry mourned after SHINee member Kim Jong-hyun, who was mononymously known as Jonghyun, committed suicide. But the show must go on for several artists including Girls’ Generation’s Kim Tae-yeon, mononymously known as Taeyeon, and EXO.

On Dec. 22, Friday, Taeyeon was in Seoul for her concert at Kyung Hee University. She spent time to pay tribute to Jonghyun at her concert by sharing a message showed on the screen.

In the message, Taeyeon told Jonghyun that she wanted to embrace him and pat him on the back at least once more because they were very similar. However, she is saddened by the fact that they will not be able to see each other anymore.

Taeyeon also asked her fans to Jonghyun and his music and said she would be grateful if they could give support together. She added that she would sing so that the late SHINee member could hear her voice and not be lonely.

On the same day, EXO was in Fukuoka, Japan for the "EXO Planet #4 - The ElyXiOn in Japan" concert. like Taeyeon, the members of the K-pop boy band showed a message to Jonghyun on the screen.

In EXO’s message, Jonghyun was described as a true artist who always shined brightly on stage with music and passion-filled performance.  The message also noted that it is sad that the EXO members will not be able to be together with Jonghyun anymore but they will remember him forever.

Girls’ Generation, SHINee and EXO and were formed by S.M. Entertainment in 2007, 2008 and 2011, respectively. Meanwhile, here is the music video of “Fine” by Taeyeon:
